Gaucho pants are definitely making a well-deserved comeback into women's wardrobes. Find out more about these awesome pants.
Contrary to popular belief, women love to wear loose-fitting clothes. We're not always looking for something that is figure-hugging and going to accentuate every curve of our bodies.
We'd rather just relax in something that is not form-fitting, is comfortable, and looks elegant too. And just when you thought there was no such thing, gaucho pants decided to come back into fashion. Don't know what gaucho pants are? Well, let's just find out and increase your fashion quotient a wee bit, shall we?

A Brief History

Gaucho pants, as a fashion trend, was quite prevalent in the 1950s and the 1960s. Initially, they were quite similar to capris, which are knee-length, snug pants.
They were more of a casual attire and were disregarded as formal wear. But soon, it was seen that snug clothing was getting in the way of simple day-to-day activities and these pants were also quite uncomfortable due to the heat.
They were then modified and made into a looser version of capri pants. This version gained popularity and has been doing so ever since. So much so that women consider the longer version of these pants formal attire too.
All you need to do is wear a mild-colored formal shirt with a strong-colored gaucho pant (black, navy blue or dark brown being the best options) and you're good to go. Team it with some simple accessories and a pair of high-heeled pumps and you have a professional look ready!

The Pattern

Gaucho pants are high-waisted pants which end a little below the knee. They are wide leg pants, completely loose from the thigh to the knee seam. They can be termed as a type of capri pants, but the difference is that capri pants are always form fitting, unlike the gaucho pants.
The waist is generally thick and wide. There may or may not be loops to fasten a belt with it. These pants are extremely comfortable, mainly because they are loose and airy (for lack of a better word). The best part is that women with any body type can pull off a pair of gaucho pants. What's more is that you can experiment with them to a great extent.
You can team them with sneakers and a sporty jacket for a trekking trip. Or you can wear it with a floral shirt to a garden or beach party. Another plus point is that black is not the only one that looks good.
You can have them in different colors and styles. While the basic pattern will remain the same, you can definitely try out different colors and designs. You can also go for printed gaucho pants with a plain t-shirt and a bandana for a completely Boho look.
If you don't already own a pair of gaucho pants, then you definitely need one. So go shopping today for it. You can get great deals online for them too! Buy a pair and enjoy your freedom from tight-fitting pants!
