How to Clean Pandora Bracelet and Charms

Bidisha Mukherjee
Cleaning is an integral part of Pandora jewelry care which is needed to maintain its attractive look. Read this story to learn how to clean Pandora bracelet and charms without causing any harm to them.
A Pandora bracelet with charms is a unique and attractive piece of jewelry. The charms are threaded so nicely to the central wire that there is no chance of the bracelet getting fastened into your clothing. So, you can wear it everyday without the hassles that you deal with while wearing your usual bracelets.
However, dirt and dust is bound to get deposited on it due to regular use. As a result, it loses the sparkling effect and looks dull. In order to restore its natural shine, you have to clean the bracelet and its charms frequently.
For most young girls and women, a Pandora bracelet is not just a piece of expensive jewelry; a lot of emotional values are also associated with it. So, when it comes to cleaning up Pandora jewelry, they feel slightly apprehensive about it. They do not want to cause any harm to the charms by using any wrong cleaning technique. The two cleaning methods that can be used for this purpose are explained below

With Polishing Cloth

The simplest way of cleaning your bracelet is with the help of a soft and dry Pandora cleaning cloth. You can purchase it from the local jewelry store. It is also available with authorized retailers of Pandora jewelry. Before you start cleaning, you have to separate the charms from the bracelet. Take out the charms and clips out of the bracelet and keep them aside.
Now, start rubbing the polishing cloth over the bracelet. While rubbing, you have to be extra careful that you do not end up twisting, turning, or pulling the bracelet, as this can damage it. For your convenience, rub the cloth from any one end of the bracelet and move on to the other end.
This way, you can ensure that each and every part of the bracelet is cleaned properly. After you have finished rubbing of polishing cloth over the entire trinket, check it to see if there are any dark and dull spots left behind. If you find any, rub the cloth on those spots again. When required, repeat it several times till you get its original shine back.
Now, it is time to clean the charms. Place a single piece of charm on the polishing cloth and buff it thoroughly with special attention to the dirty spots on it. You will find that the dirt from the charms will leave dark marks on the polishing cloth.
Therefore, when you put the next piece on the cloth, make sure it is on a clean area and not on any dirty spots. Rub each and every charm in the same manner. Finally, assemble the charms into the bracelet and you can wear it again.

With Soap Solution

When the jewelry is in an extremely dirty condition and there is a thick deposit of dirt on the surface of the bracelet, simply buffing it with a cleaning cloth is not enough and you have to opt for a deep cleaning. For this, you need some warm water in a small bowl to which one small drop of mild dish soap or hand soap has been added.
Here, I would like to warn you not to use liquid jewelry cleaner or any other cleaning agents with harsh chemical content. Even while using a dish soap, make sure that you do not add more than one drop of it into the water. If you do so, the attractive look could be robbed off by the strong chemicals.
In this method too, you have to dismantle the charms and bracelet. Next, dip the bracelet and the charms carefully into the soapy water and keep it in there for 15-30 minutes depending on the amount of dirt on it. After soaking in soap water for some time, scrub the bracelet, particularly the intricate designs, with a soft-bristled toothbrush for removal of dirt.
Once it is clean, rinse off the jewelry thoroughly with clean water. Then, place the wet jewelry on a soft piece of cloth or towel and let it air dry. When it is dry, buff the bracelet and charms with a Pandora cleaning cloth and you will be pleased to see the same sparkle on your favorite piece of jewelry.
Now that you know how to clean this type of jewelry, the next big question that comes to your mind is how frequently should it be cleaned. If you clean bracelet and charms with a polishing cloth after every use, you may not need any deep cleaning at all.
Otherwise, you have to go for deep cleaning of the bracelet and pendant once every two months. In case your jewelry is in a badly soiled condition, then it is better that you take it to the authorized Pandora jewelry dealer in your area for cleansing.
