For proper care of patent leather, it is important that you ensure daily care. This goes a long way in increasing the durability of the purse. If you use the purse daily, then it may be a great idea to make use of mineral oil to clean it.
Use one or two drops of mineral oil on a cotton ball and rub it all over the bag. This will help clean away any dirt or scuff marks on the bag. Alternatively you can choose to just wipe the surface of the back with a clean piece of cloth. There are many other techniques and methods that can be used to clean patent leather purses that are given below.

Glass Cleaner

A commonly used method to clean patent leather accessories is to use a glass cleaner. While using this method you will first need to wipe the purse completely with a clean cloth that has been dipped in water and is slightly damp.
This will ensure that any fingerprints on the accessory is wiped off. Now spray a small amount of glass cleaner on a paper towel and the wipe the purse completely. Once this is done, use a piece of cloth to wipe off any excess glass cleaner and to restore the shine of the purse.

Soap Solution

Another method that you can use in order to clean your patent leather purse is to clean it using soap and water. Make a solution using one part of liquid soap mixed with three parts of lukewarm water. Ensure that you mix the solution well. Now take a piece of soft cloth and dip it in the soap solution. You can then use it to clean the purse. After you have cleaned it properly, you can dry the purse off with a clean cloth.

Nail Polish Remover

If your patent leather bag has scuff marks that you want to get rid of, then using a nail polish remover may be your best bet. Ensure that the nail polish remover you use is one that has no acetone in it. Use a cotton ball dipped in the nail polish remover and press it to each scuff mark. Now take a clean piece of cloth and dip it in cold water and use this to erase the nail polish remover. It is important that after this cleaning process you allow the bag to dry for at least 24 hours.

Rubbing Alcohol

If you use your patent leather bag on a daily basis, then there are chances that it is marked by pen marks. One way to get rid of this is to use a solution of two parts of rubbing alcohol and one part water. Use a cotton ball to apply this mixture to all those areas on the bag that has pen marks on it and allow the area to be saturated completely. Once this is done, you can use a piece of cloth to erase any remaining spot of pen mark on the bag.
While cleaning the bag, ensure that you check if the cleaning product is taking off any coat of paint from the bag. Cleaning patent leather bags regularly ensures that they have a long life and that their sheen and gloss is maintained.
