The second reason is that no matter how much weight you put on, you never ever have to change your shoe size. Your foot does not grow after the average age of 16, so even if you do not fit into the jeans that you wore at 16, you still fit into your shoes! Most shoeaholics will agree with me on this that shoes have this mysterious power to lift your spirits when you're low and cranky. Whenever I feel down, I either buy a new pair of shoes, or I try on my older ones, and instantly I start feeling better and more confident.

Sometimes we women feel really dejected when we spend hours searching for that perfect dress, but even after seeing and trying on piles of dresses, our quest is a complete fail. But just when we are about to leave the mall and head home, our eyes fall on the perfect pair of shoes. I can't even begin to describe the joy that is experienced when that happens.

It feels like heaven's doors have finally opened, and a chorus of 'hallelujah' starts off in your mind. We've covered glamor quotient, completing the attire, and being the perfect mood lifter, so let's get on to some of the serious reasons to why women love shoes so much.

Heels have this uncanny ability to make a woman feel sexy - inside and out. Women feel like hot supermodels walking the runway whenever they wear shoes with high heels.

Probably it has something to with standing taller than what they are, which gives them the added confidence, or maybe it is the click-clacking sound that the heels make, while being walked in.

It definitely is something in that sound that turns even the shyest of the women into confident, self-assured divas. High heels also make women more noticeable to men, which in turn makes women feel very special.

Enough talk about high heels, 'cause it's time I tell you why flats, sneakers, wedges, and ballerinas hold a special place in a woman's heart. Let's start with ballerinas and how they add that 'cute' and 'petite' aura to a woman's entire outfit. Picture this - you are going out to the movies, and you do not want to dress up or dress down. So what do you do? You wear your favorite skirt, a nice blouse or top, and you pair it up with your ballerinas. Instantly your look from plain-Jane goes to cute girl next door.

Next let us take a look at why women love wedges. Is it because they are comfortable and never make your feet hurt, or is it because it adds that summery look to your get-up? For me it is all three of the above. Wedges can be worn absolutely everywhere, because they are a blend between formal and casual, and they come in so many colors, varieties etc.

Flats and sneakers, on the other hand, are usually worn on very casual occasions. They are comfort shoes, just like we have comfort clothes and food! I have noticed many women choose to wear flats or sneakers if they are constantly on the move, because these shoes provide the right balance for our bodies, and never harm our posture.

Shoes make us feel special and unique. They come in a variety of colors, types, styles, and they are perfect when you're trying to mix up your style.
